The Lasso family has been involved in coffee for generations, with Don Jose and Doña Marta (Nestor and Adrian’s parents) moving from Nariño to southern Huila to start their small farm, only 2 hectares at the time.
Nestor and Adrian, having been brought up on the farm, attended a technical coffee processing program through SENA, Colombia’s technical institute, where they learned all about experimental processing and set them on the path of becoming leaders in the coffee processing space. After graduating, they returned to the family farm and slowly but surely made it a leader in the Colombian coffee scene, culminating in the Lasso family producing a Anaerobic Natural Bourbon Sidra that was used in the winning routine of the 2022 World Barista Championships.
